configure viewing environment

I have down loaded update AcroRdrDCUpd1801120036 in order to over come the error that pops up when I try to download a form.   I still get the same message as below.  I have no idea of what could be wrong, but am afraid to down load any more updates.

" The document you are trying to load requires Adobe Reader 8 or higher. You may not have the Adobe Reader installed or your viewing environment may not be properly configured to use Adobe Reader.   For information on how to install Adobe Reader and configure your viewing environment please see  http://www.adobe.com/go/pdf_forms_configure.

I did follow the link but am not sure what the answers are going to do.  I have a windows 10 system and down loaded the patch or up date for that system but still get the same message.

I cannot seem to locate any configuration sethings that I can change in my profile either.

On Windows 10 you can use the Internet Explorer.

I am happy to say that the solution was to right mouse click on the file itself, then it down loaded, the IAVA scanned it and then it opened.   The learning point to me is that the e-form will not open on line, it has to be downloaded to work.

You must be sure to open the file in either Internet Explorer or Acrobat Reader. Nothing else. It is NOT ENOUGH just to install Acrobat Reader... you will not be able to view it in other browsers like Chrome or Firefox, or in any email app.
