New Here ,
Jun 03, 2016 Jun 03, 2016

Hi,

I already seen several similar posts, but i was not able to find any post that contain error 10:10.

So, sometimes (not always) I am getting error:

There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again. (10:10)

After error I have to close and restart IE.

What could be the cause of the problem?

Thank you,

You could share it by uploading it to a google drive and sending us the link. It would be amazing if you considered this. 🙂

I too have a company workstation experiencing this issue. We have Adobe Acrobat DC deployed on 25 workstations and this is the only one to have this 10:10 error.

Based on the comments, this is an ongoing issue that Adobe has yet to address.

Also large virtual environment >10000 sessions with this IE rendering issue.  Is there an ETA for the fix?  We're not especially comfortable not being on the current build.

It seems like they released an older version as current installation @ adobe. Just installed version 2019.008.2007 which does not have this problem. Currently able to open PDF files inside our ERP system.

We are having several customers that are having this issues.

Have tried to restart, repair, uninstall/install, but nothing works.

Before we start to roll back to an older version I would like to give it a go with the support. Is there any chance at all that this has a solution to it during this day?!

In order to minimize the problem and as it is due to the internet explorer adobe reader add-on what I am doing is renaming the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX to C:\Program Files ( x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX.OLD.

This way when the pdf is called in Internet Explorer it doesn't use the add-on and opens directly in the application.

I hope I helped, I have a park of 2500 workstations and it was the fastest way to solve the problem.

Thanks. This was the ONLY solution that worked. Ridiculous that Adobe releases a hotfix on the 23rd (which doesn't fix Acrobat only Reader, despite them having both hotfixes available for download), and now -- on the 29th, they STILL have completely ignored the multiple other comments on this thread saying that the Acrobat hotfix DOESN'T WORK and still haven't addressed the issue or given an ETA for a working hotfix. A paid product remains broken... but they fix the free one? Explain that...

Current fixes still only work for Reader, not Acrobat. Renamed ActiveX folder and installing Adobe Reader (which creates a new ActiveX folder) will get the built-in functionality working again.

Wish your reply was higher, it's the most useful comment I've seen on this issue.

Sean, renaming ActiveX folders (including WCIEActiveX) to [name].OLD works on Acrobat. You do not need to install Reader at all for a resolution. The only thing I might be excluding in my steps is that I actually did install the Adobe patch as well. So, that might be required too? But according to @HNVF they programatically did this across 2500 workstations WITHOUT installing the patch with success.

Our IT guy renamed the ActiveX & WCIEActiveX folders in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat folder then reopened QB and the error is now gone.

I am the IT guy for a CPA and renaming the ActiveX folders works...it breaks the link between IE and Adobe and so when quickbooks calls a pdf it just opens directly. The problem with this is that it breaks other programs. As soon as I did this our employees CCH Axcess broke and now they can't view reports as it needs IE to open the PDFs.  So basically it fixes QB adobe reports but breaks Axcess pdf reports... smh ADOBE NEEDS TO FIX THIS ASAP

Very similar situation here, but it is Thomson UltraTax instead of CCH Axcess. We need a real solution from Adobe ASAP.

We are, unfortunately, disabling the Acrobat Reader add on in IE long enough to print reports from QuickBooks and then re-enabling the add on. We are doing this on a case-by-case basis. I wouldn't call that success. I would call it an unacceptable workaround.

That's basically what I am doing, but I am getting so much backlash from employees, try telling 150 employees, hey when you need to print a quickbooks report, close everything, disable the add on, and then after you're done, enable it again so CCH axcess works....Adobe is not doing a good job at all.

I work for a company with 1000's of computers running adobe software. More and more people in our company are reporting this error. I found another post with the same error, and this same Adobe rep asked this question "Do you have  these files on your system. C:\Windows\systemWOW64\libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll.  Every computer that I have had come in thorugh the help desk with the error, has those two files. Other computers without those files do not have the issue.

The suggestion was to rename those files. I did, by adding the extention.old. So far, it has worked on a few pc's, and I am waiting on a few other to get back to me. Hopefully other can try this and see if it works. If not, I'll be reimaging hundreds of computers.

I would be careful renaming those files, those are SSL related and may break other applications.

If it does, i can remove the extra extension. There are still there in the folder. People who don't have those files, don't have the problem.
