Hi Roberts,

As mentioned above, that you have removed the Adobe Reader application. So there could be a possibility that application didn't uninstall correctly.

This message appears when there are old traces of the application left and needed to be removed.

You may run the cleaner tool first- Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

And then download the Adobe Reader through- Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

Dear Akanchha,

I have the same problem therefore applied the process you've suggested above. However my problem hasn't changed, I still get the warning that I already have a newer version uplodedon my computer (Windows 7).

I would be pleased if you could help me too ..

Best wishes..

mervet,

Would you try solution below before installing Reader?

Error 1722 with Windows installer package of Acrobat DC

It is provided for Adobe Acrobat, and does not look related to your issue "Newer version installed", but it might help nevertheless.

DearLeoAdobeX ,

Thank you very much for your kind help. I did what you've told one by one but this time I get a warning saying that, the software cannot be run since api-ms-win-crt-runtime-I1-1-0.dll is missing and I should reinstall the program.

Although I tried the same steps again and again, nothing has changed.

I would be very pleased if you could help me solve this issue 😕

mervet,

Can you clarify "but this time I get a warning saying that, the software cannot be run"?

Which software? Did you install Adobe Reader and can't run it or Installer itself cannot run?

Maybe you need to install appropriate update from https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows

Looks like you have a problem with Windows System itself. Try to check for updates for Windows manually and install all missing updates.
