Getting a hand icon indicating that I have to wait when I open a fillable PDF form.

I have Acrobat Reader DC which allows me to type on PDF template forms in certain areas on the form. It's not a "Fill & Sign". For the past two days, I've gotten a hand icon meaning "wait" every time I open a PDF form so I can't type on it.

The hand icon doesn't mean "wait"... It's just the default icon in the application.

    Hey  Barbara,

As mentioned by "try67", tht hand icon doesn't mean "wait" here, Its an Page Controls tool just like another tools. By default "Hand Tool" s selected, if its causing confusion for you. Then you can simply disable it by selecting any other tool from toolbar you want to use.

how do you turn off the hand tool?

If you don't find these tools in your toolbar, then navigate to Reader>View>Show/Hide>Page Controls>Show Page Controls

    Thanks,

    Akanchha

Thanks for your reply. The problem was not so much with the icon itself but that when it came on it was an apparent message indicator that I couldn’t type on the form on the screen. I thought that there might be a problem with Acrobat or my computer. It turned out that that there were at least two files out of many with the same template/format that I couldn’t type on but most were okay. I still don’t know why.
