Does anyone know how to uninstall the free version of Adobe Acrobat DC Reader on an Azure Virtual Desktop Multi-Session Host (AVD)? It keeps popping up, prompting users to sign in to a subscription As in the Screenshot. When users close the sign-in dialog box, Adobe Reader shuts down completely, making it unusable. We only need Adobe Reader and don’t require any additional features.

I previously had an older version of Adobe Reader, but it keeps updating. I had a Windows Registry entry to suppress the annoying login pop-up. Why does Adobe push these prompts, essentially forcing users to purchase a subscription when they only need Reader? Now, the customer has to use Microsoft Edge to open PDF files, which comes with its own issues. Users are accustomed to using Adobe Reader on physical PCs.

I was wondering if anyone has a fix, such as a registry entry, to suppress the Adobe sign-in or the Adobe Pro trial prompt. Our users only need Reader in an AVD session.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hi @DNA Computing Systems

Apologies for the trouble you had using Acrobat. It seems your Adobe Reader has been updated to the Adobe Acrobat, hence its asking for sign in. If you want to deploy Adobe Reader, Please follow following steps

1. Uninstall Acrobat from the machine.

2. Install Reader from https://get.adobe.com/reader/

3. Create the following registry key to suppress updating to Acrobat.

 Key : bShowUpgradePrompt =0 (type : DWORD)

Location : Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown

Regards

Ravi

Is this registry DWORD Value one no longer valid with the new Adobe Reader anymore?

Is there a registry Key to remove the Try Adobe Pro buttons in the upper right and lower left of Adobe Reader? As shown in the ScreenShot RemoveSignin.png.  Due to this being on a AVD Session host there are users that have their own Adobe Subscription adn they try to sign in but if affects the entire AVD Session when other users use Adobe Reader only.  It is possoble to have 1 user to sign in using their Adobe Personal Subscription without affecting Adobe Reader for other users.  Or do all users have to have Adobe Enterprise for AVD Sessoin host environment.  Im letting the user know that hey can only use Adobe Pro person subscription on their Physical PC and us it that way.  This is a big problem we face in a AVD Envirnment.
