How to display PDF files in a 2-page view in a Chrome WebBrowser?

Hello friends of Adobe and PDF Files,

I've archived many Magazines and books as PDF files in my Cloud Drive and would like to view them on my Chromebook in my Chrome Webbrowser .. but in a 2-page view ! ! because many magazines or books have illustrations which spread over a double page, but how could I view that in the browser, without a 2-page view mode?

(.. and no I don't want a workaround with 2 reduced independent browser instances, side by side, each which a single page ) When I download a PDF document, I can read it with almost any PDF viewer in a 2 page view, but I don't want to download them, many of them are much to big and that makes no sense to me on a Chromebook. I live digitally in my Cloud. Someone should implement the 2-sided view in the browser plugin. This is the way many books and magazines are read.

    Adobe made available recently a new PDF-viewer extension for Google Chrome over at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adobe-acrobat/efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj.

     

    I like it generally speaking, but am not too keen on the un-availability of the two-page view.

    On short, I decided to revert to the former default pdf-extension in Chrome on my Kubuntu-installs.

     

    It's beyond me how there isn't a two-page view from the start.

    How was this argued for? I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall at that meeting...

    It is not a browser plugin. Google blocked Adobe’s plugin years ago. The only “someone” who could make it work is Google. It’s a good idea, you should suggest it to them.

    it is unfortunately typically for this business, that the software manufactures shoving their responsibility back and forth when it comes to cooperation. I started already a thread in a google forum to discuss this topic but got only evasive answers.

    Finally I have no solution and I can't view PDF files in the Chrome web browser the way it's supposed to.

    If someone can recommend a third-party plugin, I would be grateful for any advice.

    You should understand that Adobe contributed for many  years a plug-in that does exactly that. Google made the decision, alone, to block Adobe and ignore their work. Google chose not to cooperate. Adobe CANNOT DO ANYTHING no matter how good an idea it is because they remain blocked. So be focussed on the people who can actually help you.

    So far as I know Google blocked all third party PDF plug-ins, but I may be wrong there.
