By the way, your system is set up to open PDF files with something called "PDF Reader Pro Lite". This is not an Adobe product. If you didn't buy it, treat it with HUGE suspicion.

Hello Aseelweb,

Try opening the PDF file using Adobe Reader desktop application. Make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed. If it is already installed, check for any pending updates of Adobe Reader from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after updating Adobe Reader.

With the description in the screenshot, it seems that the PDF is created using an online third-party app, and it is getting open in a third-party PDF viewer.

If you are able to open the PDF file in Adobe Reader, please go to the Document Properties from File>Properties>Description Tab and share the screenshot of the description tab.

Are you able to open other PDF files with Adobe Reader?

What is the version of Adobe Reader installed? To identify refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

What is the version of Mac OS installed?

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

Hi Anand,

Thanks for your reply, I have no problem with any other PDF files,

When they attached the file, if I click on it it takes me to a weird website which needs my email and password, Safari warned me to open it.

It suppose to be sent from an overseas architectural firm with plans

The file is on your desktop. Please try to start Reader THEN use File > Open to open this file. Does the same thing happen? If it does it seems to be infected so contact the sender (if you expected the file).

I sent an email to the sender to send it in a different way.

Usually I open any PDF file easy , I downloaded PDF Reader Pro Lite when I was trying to figure how to open this file

Shall I delete it? I didn't buy it, just downloaded it from App Store

If you downloaded it from the App Store it should be fine. My concern was that you didn't know it was there - some viruses get in that way.
