Probably your PDF file is corrupted, in order to recover the comments, you have to recover the PDF files. There are two ways to do this either you can restore the PDF file to the previous version or can use a third party PDF recovery tool

To restore the PDF files to the previous version follow the steps-

  • Browse to the location where your PDF file is saved.
  • Now right click on PDF file and choose the "Restore previous versions".

If this didn't work then you can use a third-party tool to recover your PDF file.

If you delete a file, you need to recover it from your own backups. If you don't back up effectively, it's gone forever. Sounds like you found it in a recent file list; that's normal and doesn't mean the file has been kept. Perhaps a lesson in backups? No, nobody ever wants to learn this lesson.

Hi,

I have just worked 7 hours on a document with calculations and detailed text, and it came up with 'Graphic Error' and deleted itself and therefore all my datailed work. Can it be recovered by the Adobe team? It's Acrobat Reader DC
