I am seeing exact issue which explained in this article : Using Microsoft Information Protection plug-in for... - Adobe Product Community - 10991890

I am not sure why external and guest (both type of users) having this broken UX?

I need to have a solution as recipient of MIP protected file won't accept such poor UX and defeat purpose of protection, such poor UX leads user to not to protect and avoid using MIP.

Thanks,

That article is very generic and does not answer my above question. problem is not viewing protected PDF file. Problem is how protected pdf gets open after surfacing login screen error (as mentioned in original post screenshot).

Seeing error message makes user confuse so how to fix such broken login user experience?

Hi @vj83,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the experience.

There could be multiple scenarios due to which the error is seen. Troubleshooting steps basis the scenarios have been described, along with their solutions in line here: https://adobe.ly/4nqGwUl.

Also, if you are using the Acrobat / Reader desktop app to access the file, you might want to try this:

Set both bEnablePolicyAuthentication and bShowDMB to 0 under the “MicrosoftAIP” section. After enabling the registry, users won't see the applied MIP label on the current file. The bEnablePolicyAuthentication disables authentication in Azure AD.

Let us know if this helps, and if not, please share the platform you are using ot view the files, and if the desktop application, please share the below details for further investigation:

1. The app version of Acrobat you use (go to Menu > Help > About Acrobat);

2. A screen recording of the entire event for better understanding.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Souvik.
