Question

My reader couldn't fill the forms anymore

I am running Adobe Acrobat Reader v 2022.003.20314 on my Mac. All the fillable forms, mainly downloaded from Canada immigration and citizenship website, were working properly before, but all of a sudden a few months ago these forms started blocking me from filling them. There was sometimes a highlighted red warning message showing on the document "Javascript has been disabled, the form requires Javascript to validate properly....", or a popup window showing "The document enabled extended features in Adobe Acrobat Reader. This document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available...". The same documents could be opened on my other Macs without any issues.

I've tried to clear all the plist files and reinstalled the reader for many times but the errors still show up constantly. Any directions or clues I can follow might be appreciated.

Hi @Eric28853328uoux

Sorry to hear about the trouble caused.

The error occurs for two reasons-

1- Either Acrobat Reader is not updated. Which I could see from the version shared above. Please download the latest patch 23.001.20093 from here https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

2- Or The error occurs when one of the certificates required for Reader Extended PDFs is set incorrectly in the Acrobat Reader's trust store called the address book. Follow these steps to fix the same.

Let us know the result.

Thanks,
