I'm trying to print a new PDF file with Acrobat Reader. It has a small lock icon on the PDF icon. When I print it immediately goes to Printed and "Deleting" with nothing actually printed in the print queue. I can print it as an image using the print Advance feature. All my other PDF documents print fine.

Hi kenh70941539 ,

Could you please let me know the workflow as in how you are trying to print?

Also where did you receive this file from ? Was it an attachment?

Seems like the file is protected with a third party application .

Acrobat doesn't give any lock icon if its protected .

Regards

Sarojini

Sarojini,

It was an attachment from an email from a job opportunity organization which I saved to my hard drive using yahoo.com.  I then opened the attachment and attempted to print it. Nothing happened so I looked in the printers queue. I've attached the print queue after several minutes of nothing printing.

A lock on the icon means the file is set to read-only.

A PDF can have a permissions password that prevents printing, but that one isn't it. Open the PDF and look at the top of the Navigation Bar. If there is a padlock at the top, it has password protection. To determine what is protected, click the padlock and click on Permission Details.
