Hi Elodie
Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described the mouse pointer has turned to black square
Please check out the steps provided in the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/mouse-cursor-changes-into-a-black-box.html and see if that works for you.
Regards
Amal

Hello @Ange-Christian N'GATTA
I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.
Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat/Reader installed on the machine: 25.001.20643, Optional update, Aug 25, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.
Close Acrobat Reader DC.
Open the following folder on your computer:
C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Acrobat\DC
Delete the icon cache file:
For Acrobat Reader: IconCacheRdr.dat
For Acrobat Pro: IconCacheAcro.dat
Restart Acrobat Reader DC.
This should restore the normal mouse pointer behavior.
If this does not work, please share the current version of Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, the OS version, and the logs from the affected machine with us for further investigation. To collect the logs, download and run the Log Collector tool. Make sure to select all log options and attempt to reproduce the issue. After that, close the Log Collector tool; it will generate the logs along with a log ID. Please share this log ID with us.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.
