After we updated the Adobe reader dc to 2001320064, it take about 20 second to get the Adobe form preview in SAP, normally it is came up instantly, we reversed to the old version, no such issue, so please help to fix this issue on the lastest verison, thank!
Hi All
The optional update (ver. 20.13.20066) addressing this issue is now available (Windows Only). Please try to update the application to the new version available from the help menu > check for updates or you can manually download the patch using the link: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Hi Fred,
Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, Preview Adobe form in SAP is very slow after the recent update.
Please try to reboot the computer once and see if that helps.
Please try to repair installation (Windows Only) and see if that helps. Go to Help > repair installation and reboot the computer once.
If it still doesn't work, Please try to turn off the protected mode for testing (Windows only) and see if that helps. Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable Protected mode at start up' , turn off the protected mode and uncheck Enhanced Security > Click OK and reboot the computer.
Note: Turning off the security may possess security risks, please turn on the security after testing.
You may also try to reset the preferences to default as described in the help page: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792...and see if that makes any difference.
Regards
Amal

Hi Adobe,
same problem here! We already tried the steps described in your post. Problem still persists.
Embedded PDF Viewer in InternetExplorer is working fine.
We found two workarounds:
* Downgrade (not secure!)
* Use Adobe Acrobat Reader 2020 "classic" (untested tool in productive environment...)
@Fred5E28 Where to you store your PDF files in SAP? We are using "Easy Archiv".

Sorry, I don't know where it is stored, need to check with my Basis team, I tried to print the Adobe form from SAP into my local PDF printer, it is fast as usual, is only slow when you preview in SAP.

Hi Adobe,
Same problem here on 200+ clients, the proposed workarounds does not work
One workaround is to install the full version of Acrobat Pro DC alongside Acrobat reader. We are however hoping for a fast resolution/workaround so we dont need to downgrade 200+ clients

Hi Amal,
I have tried all of above steps you mentioned, still can't fix the issue.

So here is a possible Workaround:
We had to disable "Protected Mode" for combatibility reasons in the past. We deployed this policy:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\FeatureLockDown
bProtectedMode = 0
As soon as I switch 0 to 1, the PDF is loading in SAP as expected. I hope this helps someone else too!

Thsi does indeed "solve" the performance problem.
However this leads to another known bug (ADC-4304271) which breaks the print functionality
Hoping "someone" is working on a permanent solution!

Actually, we've found that enabling protected mode at startup seems to makes it better, but then reintroduces the print bug again.

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 15.007.20033.2203:
Checking "Enable Protected Mode at startup" also solved our performance problems!
Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2020.013.20064:
With this product SAP crashes every 2nd time a PDF is to be displayed!
Any idea?

We never enable "Enable Protected Mode at startup", the PDF preview is never came up in SAP once you enble it no matter what's kind of version of Adobe Acrobat reader.
