Print spooler has to be restarted after using print preview in Adobe and printing to HP plotter

Hi,

I am having an odd issue where if I print from Adobe to an HP Plotter printer (when using Print Preview) the print spooler gets stuck.

I open a PDF document and go to print dialog page. From there I click on properties and check the box that says show print preview.

Once I print the print preview never comes up and the document never prints.

I look at the queue for the printer and the document is stuck.

The only way to clear is to stop print spooler, clear queue, and restart print spooler

I used another local admin profile on the PC and it has the same issue.

Adobe Acrobat DC is being used (Version 19.010.20098)

The HP Plotter is an HP DesignJet T770.

Thanks!

Hello Chelsea,

We're sorry for the trouble and for the delayed response. Try printing the PDF file as an Image, for steps, you may refer to the help article Print PDF as image | Adobe Acrobat, Reader

Is it possible to post the screenshot of the Properties windows of the Printer? To post a screenshot, please refer to https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7043#jive_content_id_How_do_I_attach_a_screenshot

Are you experiencing this issue with all the PDF files or is it specific to one PDF?

What is the version of the firmware installed for HP DesignJet T770? Make sure you have the latest version of firmware installed.

Are you on a Mac or Windows machine and what is the version?

We're here to help, just need more info.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
