Adobe says the Reader is "Free". I have the Free Version.
When I try to open a PDF document, it keeps putting up a Promo Wall with NO Exit option for a Free Trial of a Paid version.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this and still keep the free reader? I do not need any additional features, I just want to view and print the documents. Not interested in a Free Trial.

Hey @Venkat88,
Sorry for the trouble.
Could you share the screenshot of the "Promo Wall" you mentioned? We would like to review it and help you with the best possible suggest that could help.

Hi Kannan,
As you mentioned, "It seems to happen only with some documents. This particular document, which will not open is just a shot of a catalog page for some merchandise I was shopping for, and I downloaded it from the manufacturer's page."
Can you share a few sample documents or at least one using the reproducible issue on your end? Also, would you let us know the file you have downloaded from the shopping site? Is it a .pdf file or an image or other file format?

Kannan,
Thanks for trying that out and letting us know.
It gets tricky sometimes, trust me. Enjoy the application, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions in the future.

I am having the same issue in regards to some weird "paywall" thing which I've never had before with Adobe Reader. Every time I try to open a PDF it give me this message:
