Read Out Loud- Only Reading 1 Page at a Time?

New Here ,
Nov 03, 2023 Nov 03, 2023

Good afternoon, I have tried everything my PDF document is 150 pages. I have changed the prefernces in Reading to "Read the Entire Document." as needed for large files over 50 pages.

And still when I click Read to the End of Document under "Read Out Loud". It will only read 1 page at a time?? Hoping the document to auto scroll and read the entire 150 pages.

I have tried rebooted and restarted after setting changes.

Thank you for your help.

Which assistive technology are you using to "Read out Loud?"

Is the PDF fully text-to-speech accessible?

Below are details on using Free Acrobat Reader.

Thanks Nancy, I had both Acrobat Reader and Acrobat loaded. Deleting both, reloading Acrobat DC.

Text-to-speech consumes a lot of computer memory, both physical & RAM

Shut down all apps and restart your computer to reset RAM.

You might want to do some computer cleaning to free up hard disk space.  Also turn off all non-essential background processes that could be competing for resources.

Hope that helps.

Will do its MacBook Pro. Doesn't seem to be freezing. The file was created in 2016 so just try to save as optimized. Newest...

This document has worked in the past ie a few months ago. So could likely be Storage related. I deleted 40 GB of movie recently uploaded. And memory is operating in the green zone.

Problem still persists. Will read one page. Two if I close everything and reopen.

Will clean up a bit more. Ugh
