Question

Reader isn't showing a coloured title bar, or coloured window border

Using Win 10, set to dark mode, with blue window title bars and borders.

Most programs show the coloured title bar, and a blue border when not full screen.

Adobe reader does neither.

This makes it really hard to see where the menu bar is, when it's windowed and in front of another dark window.

How can I make Adobe Reader show the menu bar in blue, or even just have a blue outline?

Check Adobe Acrobat Preferences

  • Open Adobe Acrobat and go to Edit > Preferences (or Acrobat > Preferences on macOS).
  • Select Accessibility from the menu.
  • Under the Document Colors Options, make sure Replace Document Colors is unchecked, or adjust color settings here to customize the appearance.
  • Also, check under General and ensure Enable Protected Mode at startup is disabled (some configurations may require this to be off for color adjustments).
