Restore tool bar and menu

A recent update has completely changed the placement of tool bar and menu. I don't know why Adobe does this so frequently. It is really inefficient. I've looked at other discussions and F9 on the keyboard doesn't restore the old layout. Previously tools were on the right hand side and the menu (zoom, page number etc.) was at the top. Now tools are on the top left, and the menu is on the bottom right. Please help.

Hi All,

Hope you are doing well.

We acknowledge that the new Acrobat represents a notable change; however, we hope that as you get familiar with the new interface, you can be more productive and get more out of Acrobat.

Hi, I fully agree about the toolbar. Who decided you could only access the toolbar by adding multiple steps, and there was no option to anchor or dock it? A toolbar at the top is not "classic"; it is efficient -you need a toolbar to function.   If you want to make changes, then it should be so Adobe is more intuitive, stable, and efficient to use. Who thought removing tools in Adobe was a good idea to then reduce the home page to Adobe Cloud Storage or "Agreement"? At least give your existing clients the option to maintain their toolbar where they like it. Nobody wants to keep relearning apps. Apple keeps messing with its iPhone software instead of innovations.  People need help figuring out how to work it - The focus option was great - but the simple on-and-off procedure was removed and replaced with one hour of having to link it to sleep, so it is a nuisance. Updates should improve things, but don't just change for the sake of change. How can you dock the toolbar at the top or the side as before quickly and easily? That's the question, and I'd love to have the answer too. I'm sure you don't mean to, but your reply treats your clients like children. You hope that with the new interface, we will learn? If every software group keeps tweaking for the sake of tweaking, it's ludicrous and counterproductive. Who has the time to be forced to relearn what worked? Who doesn't need a toolbar? Who thought removing tools that clients use to make Adobe Works was a good idea? Is removing the toolbar supposed to make it more efficient, intuitive, and easy to use? Honestly, that's not funny. Please do an update that is needed so Adobe clients can check an option to keep the toolbar instead of inhibiting people form using Adobe.

Agreed, this is a horrendous change. Adobe wants specifics. Used to be able to see what page you are on and jump to a page easily, change page view, and easily work with all of the tools because their menus laid out across the top. Was this beta tested? Hard to believe it was because it seems unlikely that it would have been released like this. Agree this is very dispectful of users.

Totally agree with you. This change is so frustrating it is not unlike a comment I have heard before pretaining to Windows products were they changed everything around and the rational was to ge users to explore the product more. What these people don't realize that most users only use a small portion of what the product is capable to do their job and that is all they need. My job is production and anything that slows or impedes that is a barrier that causes a lot of personal job stress. LIKE TO OLD SAYING GOES. "IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT"

Hi All,

Hope you are doing well.

We acknowledge that the new Acrobat represents a notable change; however, we hope that as you get familiar with the new interface, you can be more productive and get more out of Acrobat.

We are actively working on all the currently unavailable features, such as customizing the all-page display, navigation & zoom tools such as 2-page view, 2-page with scrolling, marquee & dynamic zoom, etc., from the bottom right menu. And we will address them with the highest priority.

As you get more comfortable with the new interface, please contact us with specific questions on tools, features, or functionalities. We’re happy to provide helpful resources and answers to your questions.

If your critical workflows are impacted, you can switch to the old UI from the “Menu” on the top left corner of Windows and View Menu on MacOS. We will follow up with a detailed community-featured post, guiding you to familiarise yourself with the new interface and regular updates on upcoming changes.

Thanks,
Tariq Ahmad

Except I hate the new layout and it takes me 10x longer to do everything.  Please, just stop making my life so much better and leave what is not broken alone.  And... give me a heads up with things change and a pop-up to change it back, so I don't have to come here and complain.

Please don't ignore this follow-up- be kind and respectful of your users. I fully agree with the toolbar statement by Paul and the layout. Who decided you could only access the toolbar by adding multiple steps, and there was no option to anchor or dock it? A visible toolbar is so you CAN use Adobe - and the often used features. If you want to make changes, it should be so Adobe is more intuitive, stable, and efficient. I think what is lost on Adobe lately is that if you're doing the opposite of what is needed. You're frustrating the people who are your clients and ruining what worked. Why break what was working and enabled users to operate Adobe? Without delay, please do a simple update and give existing clients the option to maintain their toolbar where they like it. So users can dock the toolbar at the top or the side quickly and easily in preferences by checking a box in preference? Please do this one fix update that is needed so Adobe clients can check an option to keep the toolbar instead of inhibiting people from using Adobe. You know, people use software to do their work, and when they contact software companies, it's because they can't find a solution out on the Internet, and they're lost, desperate, and they're pleading for help, and relief- trying to get relief. It should be an immediate response, recognizing that the direction that you're going in is a train wreck. People don't have time to waste contacting the community websites. They only do so because they are frustrated, and why maltreat your users? Honestly, nobody is going to use Adobe Cloud except by accident. Go out to the Internet and see how many posts there are to undo your update that automatically checked boxes (by default), so suddenly, your PDF work was hijacked to be saved to the Adobe Cloud.  I mean, how many clouds do you think people can use? We all have file systems. We back up to drives and to the Cloud.   The whole cloud money grab direction is a joke. My point about the file structures is that no one is going to randomly keep a marooned file to this software cloud and another and another - standalone files that are not saved but marooned on yet another software company's system that started a cloud service.  It's silly. It's not a good business model, and users have abandoned industry leaders who implode their software use by trying to cram down Cloud Storage. The thinking is so silly - Oh, we have to have a cloud as we will make a lot more money. No, you won't - keep your software so that it works; it's intuitive, effective, efficient, and easy to use. People will maintain being your customer, but don't force them to give up on you because you're messing with your users and ruining that work. Build on your success, not sabotage your users from using Adobe. P.S.  Since your recent update, Adobe has taken a leap back to such an extent that crashes occur frequently, and the spinning beach ball is back!  I stopped reporting as you all are wasting too much of my time like this message. Please fix what you did.
