Question

The document could not be saved. An error occurred while reading this document (105)

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my Acrobat Reader when I try to save a PDF. When I want to save my work multiple times, it shows this message (see photo): "The document could not be saved. An error occurred while reading this document (105)." I have tried several methods I found online, but without success. I would like to understand why this is happening. It's an intermittent problem because there are some documents where I don't experience this issue.

Thank you!

Hi there

I hope this message finds you well, and thank you for reaching out to us.

The issue you're experiencing appears to be caused by corruption in the PDF file's data. This could stem from a variety of factors, making it challenging to pinpoint the exact source of the problem.

To resolve this, here are a couple of suggestions:

  1. If you are the file owner: Recreate the PDF from its original source file. This often resolves any underlying data corruption issues.
  2. If you're not the owner or recreating isn't possible: Try saving a new copy of the PDF with a different file name. This process can sometimes clear minor corruption in the file structure.

Please let us know if these steps help or if you encounter any further issues.
