there is a problem with adobe acrobat reader. If it is running please exit and try again 507:507

We're getting this error on multiple clients lately. Even tried updating Adobe Reader to the latest version, but it persists.

Windows 7 64bit enterprise, IE 11.

Any ideas?

We have this same problem too on multiple clients. I think it is since the updates 20053 and 20056. A workaround is disabeling the sandbox security option.

We tried to disable the sandbox security option but the issue came back a day later.

For some of our users the issue came back too. Our second workaround: We uninstalled the 20056 version, installed the older 20039 version from the Adobe site and stopped the updater service.
