Hi R89868605,

Solution-1

Have you tried uninstalling the application using the cleaner tool?

If not, then try removing the application using the cleaner tool (if its windows) Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

And reinstall it again through- Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

If above solution doesn't work then-

Solution-2

1- Close Acrobat Reader

2- Locate Reader shortcut on desktop>Right click>select Properties>under Compatibility tab>check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows 7 from the drop down options>click Apply>OK

3- Relaunch Adobe Reader.

If solution-2 doesn't work then try disabling the protected view for testing purpose and see if that helps.

Edit>Preferences>Security(enhanced)>Protected View Off

*Please Enable the Protected view if it works, as its not recommended to keep the security turned off.

Protected View feature for PDFs (Windows), Adobe Reader

Let us know if it still doesn't work.

Regards,

Akanchha

As non of the solution provided has worked, so would request you to create an Hidden Administrator user account on your computer and try working on Adobe Reader there.

If it works without any trouble in the another Administrator account then there could be problem with the existing user account.

Please try, and let us know the result.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi R89868605,

I apologize for the delay in resolution and sorry to hear its still causing inconvenience for you.

As Adobe Reader is a free application of Adobe, So the support option is limited to the forums only.

Would request you to follow the help document and try one more important step that has not been performed yet.

Resolve Acrobat DC intermittent crashes on Windows

Try solution-2 and re-create the preferences and try again.
