Unable to print PDF after migrating domain
We are migrating users from one domain to another in our Active Directory and some of them are having issues with printing PDFs from Adobe Reader after their accounts are moved.
The PDF documents printed from Adobe Reader just won't go to the spooler. All other applications print fine, PDFs can be printed from other readers and within web browsers (Chrome & Firefox) but when the user clicks PRINT in Adobe, nothing happens. The system Print window with all the options opens as usual but after that, the job simply won't register in the network printer. The same documents print fine for other users on those PCs which make me think it's some kind of permissions issue with Adobe Reader software.
So far we tried:
- Disabling Protected Mode (in Preferences > Security Enhanced)
- Reinstalling Adobe Reader (with version DC, 10, and 11)
- Reinstalling network printer on users' PCs,
- "Print as image" option in Adobe Reader.
- Adding domain user to local administrators group and running Adobe Reader with elevated permissions
And the obvious rebooting after each step. None of the above make any difference and there are no errors in the Windows Event Viewer.
The only solution is to remove domain users' profile and let them log in again to create a new one, which is a major inconvenience due to some applications that require configuration after this.
Any help appreciated.
