Adobe Acrobat Reader crashing on Android when trying to open PDF in Outlook only

My Adobe reader crashes now when I try to open pdf attachments I receive in Outlook Mobile (365) on my android S21+.  Is there a fix for this?   It just started happening this week.   However, if I "save" instead of trying to preview the attachment to the device, I can find it in the folder and open.  I just cannot preview in Outlook mobile.   Or if I forward to my gmail address on mobile device, it will allow me to open from the attachment on the forwarded email.

Thank you

I have been getting the same issues with our staff on the most recent version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader app and discovered if you uninstall the app and reinstall it then go into Settings-> apps -> Click on Adobe Acrobat -> scroll down to open by default and open the setting -> select clear default.

When you open a PDF from and email it will prompt for which application select Adobe Acrobat reader it will then open just fine.

When selecting the app dont hit aways becasue this will set the default again.

The problem seems to be with setting the app as default and as long as you dont set it for the short term you will be fine.

hopefully Adobe will get this corrected soon.

Hi @Mont23027672kdjg

Would you mind sharing a few details to understand the issue better?

1. Android version?

2. Application version?

3. A video/ screen recording that shows the issue clearly?

Make sure that the app is updated to the latest version.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks,

Harsh

1. Android version is 12
2. Adobe Acrobat Reader version is 21.11.1.20710
I have uninstalled an reinstalled and clear cache several times.
3. When I am in outlook on my S21+ and hit the pdf for a preview, the
screen just goes blank, so there is nothing to screenshot

Thank you

Thanks for providing the details. Could you check if you can open any other filetypes like, Excel, word?

Is it happening with all PDF attachments or just one PDF?

Thank you for your reply. I did not think of trying a word doc but I am
having issues with Word and Excel doc previews as well. I know you do not
work on word but any advice as to what I should do? Is it likely a problem
with Outlook mobile or can you say? Thanks again

I checked with Verizon too. At this point, because it happens with Adobe,
Word, Excel too, we believe it's an Outlook Mobile bug/glitch or something.

My workaround is to simply add my regular email account to gmail and start
using that until they get Outlook mobile fixed. I believe you can add
several accounts in this way and just use the gmail frontend instead for a
bit.

I hope they fix it soon though because I had everything organized on
Outlook.

This works perfectly and my pdf's will open again. Always select 'just
once" like you said and it works fine. This also worked for my Word and
Excel. Great fix. Thank you so much.
