Since the update to version 21.2xxx, password-protected PDF files can no longer be printed on Android.
The message "The document cannot be printed because it is password-protected" always appears in this case. This means that this app can't used for many corporate requirements.
Can anyone please check this behaviour and and response how this problem can be solved?
Thank you in advance and best regards.

Hi,
Hope you are doing well.
Thank you for posting your query here. Please help me with few details to understand your issue better.
You need to check the document's properties using the desktop application (it cannot be checked using the mobile app). Open the document>Right Click on the document>Document Properties> Security>Printing If its "Allowed" then there should be any problem and if printing isn't "Allowed" then you need to change the document's security settings to be able to print it.
Note: In order to edit the document, you need to be the creator of the document.
How to change the security settings-
If that doesn't work you can share the document with us via document cloud.
Let us know how it works at your end. If you have any further queries please feel free to reach out to us.

Hello Ria,
many thanks for your response.
Printing is allowed in the settings of my PDF document and only password protection is activated.
Unfortunately, however, printing with the mobile app (Android) is not possible.
I have added a test document with password protection as an attachment (Password = test). If this document is opened with an Android device, the content can be displayed after entering the password.
However, printing is not possible (message: The document cannot be printed because it is password protected).

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in response.
Are you still experiencing issues in printing a password-protected file?
If yes, please let us know what happens when you try to print a password-protected PDF? Do you get any error messages? If yes, please do share the screenshots.
Share the application and OS version with us. Also, let us know the exact workflow you follow to print the password-protected file. There is a recently updated Adobe Reader Mobile application Play store. Please make sure you are on an updated version of the application.

Unfortunately, this is not possible with mobile devices - and that is what this topic is about. It's really frustrating that Adobe doesn't take action here....

Hello,
The feature of printing password protected documents is available only on the desktop version of the application for now.
Your feedback for the feature matters and you can fill out the below form so that it reaches to our team and they can work on it to implement on the future updates:

One more small note: if another mobile app is used, printing of a password-protected PDF file is possible. I have already successfully tested this with Foxit PDF Editor. Too bad that Adobe can not implement this feature...
