Annotations on pdfs not saving

New Here ,
Mar 18, 2025 Mar 18, 2025

My uni uses Onedrive as the student's digital workspace, and when we upload pdfs to our Onedrive, when we open them, it opens with Adobe Reader. Up until yesterday my annotations on these documents have been saving, but I checked this morning and all my annotations from yesterday are gone. I tried annotating something this morning then exiting/re-opening, and the annotation is not saving.

I lost a whole day of annotations from readings yesterday - any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there

Hope you're doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

Could you confirm whether this issue is occurring with a specific PDF file or with all PDFs? Please try opening a different PDF file and check if the problem persists.

Additionally, kindly provide the following details to help us troubleshoot effectively:

  • Acrobat app version: Tap on Profile > About Acrobat to check your current version.
  • Operating system version: Ensure your device is running the latest OS version.
  • App updates: Check for any pending or missing updates in the App Store/Google Play Store, update the Acrobat app if needed, and reboot your device before trying again.

If the issue is related to OneDrive, try the following steps:

  1. Remove OneDrive as a save location in the Acrobat mobile app.
  2. Sign out of the Acrobat mobile app.
  3. Restart your device.
  4. Log back into the Acrobat app and reconfigure OneDrive as the save location.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi !

I have the same issue and it's with all PDFs including the OCR PDF.

I've test the advice. No luck.

The problem does not arise when you download from Acrobat via the OneDrive location and save a copy on the iPad in the Acrobat application.

On the other hand, when you first open OneDrive to import the PDF document into Acrobat, the annotations do not remain at all.

Acrobat app : 25.02.05 (20250306.074217)

OS iPad : 18.3.2

no update

Thanks

Hi there,

We are sorry to hear that.

Kindly update the app to the latest version 25.03.0 from the App/Play Store and reboot the device once and check

If the issue still exists, please share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs for more clarity and further investigation.

I have completed these steps and my annotations still do not sync to OneDrive. Annotations done on the PC do show up on the Android app, but not vice versa. Please advise how to resolve this.
