I downloaded the latest updates on my iPad 8. But adobe acrobat stopped opening and showed a message "adobe acrobat" needs to update. The problem is I can't access any of the documents I downloaded and commented on in the app. Please help

Sorry for the delayed response. If you are still facing the issue. Please help me with a few details to understand your issue better.
You need to log in to the first app which says Acrobat with a red icon. We did try to replicate the behavior on our end, however, it is working fine. Reboot your device.
Note: Ensure you are connected to the internet.
