Please confirm if you are using Acrobat mobile or desktop application? What is the version of the OS and the Acrobat Application you are using?

What happens when you try to edit the PDF file? Do you get an error message? If yes, please share a screenshot for more clarity.

Please check if the PDF has some password restrictions or if the file is digitally signed. Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. Also go through the steps suggested in the help page https://adobe.ly/4fbuxFA  and see if that works.
