I have upgraded to Acrobat Pro which told me I can edit PDFs on mobile devices... every PDF that is NOT read only on my MacBook is read only on both devices. I have been hung up on by customer service twice now. Why is there no easy solution for this? I run a remote business like the rest of us, it's 2022, I can't find anything in the forums except "have you updated to the latest software?" Yes of course I have.

I hope you are doing well. I am sorry for the experience you had with Acrobat Reader Mobile.
The issue that you refer to, is with a specific file or with all the files? If with all the files, can you share a sample pdf with us so that we can check and try to reproduce the same at our end.
If the issue is with a specific file, you might want to check the properties of the pdf on your MacBook and see if the file is restricted to editing.
