Hello,
My name is Seokjun Song, and I work at Nongong Middle School in Daegu, South Korea.
In 2024, the previous staff member (A) subscribed to Adobe programs using our school budget. However, in 2025, A transferred to another school, and this information was not properly communicated.
As a result, our school card was charged again for the Adobe subscription in September 2025.
We would like to request a refund for this payment. In this situation, should the subscription cancellation be processed through the same ID that made the payment? Unfortunately, A has moved to another school and is currently on a one-year research leave, so it is difficult to get in touch with them.
Since this is a public inquiry, I cannot share A’s personal email or information. However, I believe the account used is also under the domain “nongong.ms.kr,” just like mine.
and start with lonelyhero ~~
The school would like to resolve this issue as quickly as possible, as funds are being spent without a proper reason.
Thank you very much for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Seokjun Song

@Passionate_adventure1374 The simple answer is Yes, the subscription cancellation and any refund requests are ideally processed through the Adobe ID that owns the license (A's account).
From past experience with the education sector, the education institution, the school is the rightful owner of the license, and Adobe Support has the tools to verify your school's ownership of the payment and the domain. For that matter, your IT department or whoever administers your software licenses often has the power to manage or reassign that license! It will depend on how the school purchased the subscription!
If your school bought an Adobe Teams plan, the IT Administrator likely has access to the Adobe Admin Console. The Admin Console allows the IT staff to reclaim the license from A's email address and reassign it to a current staff member, or simply remove the license entirely, which would effectively cancel the paid usage for that seat. If this is the case, you should first contact your IT administrator. They can usually handle the cancellation and license reassignment without needing A's password. They can then advise you on how the refund for the unauthorized charge must be processed (usually still through Adobe Customer Care, but with documentation from the Admin Console).
