Hi. After the latest update, whenever I open a full-screen .pdf on my iPad, I get an annoying banner related to “Generative Summary”, which cannot be removed or hidden in any way, even by disabling AI operations from the app settings. This is really annoying, because it prevents the document from opening properly full-screen (in fact, part of the screen is always occupied by the banner). I don't doubt that the service offered can be useful, but for those who don't need it, it is just annoying, and in any case, I find it unreasonable that it cannot be hidden according to one's needs. It would not bother in the standard view, but I think it is only fair that in the full-screen view there should be no other elements except the document itself. What sense does it make to limit the display of the document in this way? I could see that several users complain about the same problem, so I hope it will be corrected with the next updates. Sincerely.

Hi, Luca.
Been looking for a solution myself for a while. I literally just made an account because I just figured it out. If you go to settings -> view -> reading_mode the banner disappears.
Hope this helps.

I should clarify this is on iPhone, for anyone else who reaches this thread, but hopefully applies to other devices.

Thank you very much for your reply. In fact the method works, and it would seem to be the only way to remove that annoying banner. Too bad that, at least on iPad, that reading mode, which uses vertical scrolling, is less comfortable than the single-page view with horizontal scrolling. Obviously, this is a personal opinion, but I still hope that an update will be released so that that banner is maintained only in standard mode and not in full-screen. Thanks again for your kindness.

Bummer that changing to reading mode also makes the search magnifying glass disappear for no reason.

Come on Adobe, there should be an option to disable this. Forcing me to look at a 'feature' will make me re-think why I am PAYING for this experience.

Same here. We need a solution. For a payed service this is just not acceptable. It should be so simple to avoid. It gives a very unpleasant feeling of stupid machines taking over and make otherwise simple features complicated. The "read" mode is not a solution in my case either.

I am sad to note that, after the last update, the generative summary banner is still present in full-screen (except in "reading mode", which is a view that I do not use and that, for what I need to do, is less useful than the non-continuous single-page view). I sincerely hope that the problem will really be solved, and that this is not a company policy aimed at encouraging the use of AI: if someone wants to use this service, they can do it from the standard view, as with all the other tools useful for editing a .pdf. Leaving a banner in full-screen is just annoying, and takes up useful space.

Work harder.
I use Adobe Acrobat Reader 99% of the time for reading large PDF versions of books / manuals. I neither need, nor want, an AI 'generative summary' to begin with, much less jammed in my face every time I open the document. Plus, these documents are of a size that the 'generative summary' process generally chokes on - tying up my device and requiring either killing the process or a hard reboot/reset of the device.
Fix this.

Hi, Amal,
I appreciate that recent updates have made the banner disappear when making the document full screen, but can the banner itself at least be removed to the top toolbar, or even made entirely removable?
Like "liquid mode", I'm sure it's a feature someone uses, but I don't feel it's something that should have its own strip of real estate.
Cheers

What the marketing/management team needs to know is that the users are not happy. Constantly filling my use of your product with nag screens, pop-ups and banners that need me to physicaly click on them to close, every time I open up Adobe is beyond annoying. It's almost as bad as the gas pumps that have video screens that start to play when I pump gas. Please pass along my message to the marketing team.
