Hi there, I have several files in my adobe acrobat app on iOS that I'm finished with and wish to delete but when I try I get a red error banner saying unable to delete; these are not shared files and are not also in any other location(as suggested on a response to another users problem in the forum similar to mine); so I don't know why it won't allow me to delete them-is there any other way to override this please?? (They are the top 6 files shown in my attached screenshot)

Hello @Retro-grrl
I hope you're doing great, and sorry for the inconvenience.
As you mentioned, you get the message "Unable to delete" when trying to delete a file.
Could you please help us with some details to understand your issue better: -
To know more about deleting a PDF, kindly refer to this article:
https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobat/ios/en/managefilesfolders.html#delete-files
Hoping to hear from you soon.
Regards,
Krutikka

Hi Krutikka, thanks for following this up for me-to answer the questions you've asked I will answer them as per your numbered order-
1. I only get this message trying to delete these 6 particular PDF's.
2. They appear to be saved on what must be 'this iPhone' as they only show in the home tab on my app, nowhere else.
3. Will try to attach screen recording of the exact workflow of me attempting to delete each file in order from top down.
4. These files are not encrypted/password protected, no.
5. The app version is 22.09.00 and my iOS version is 15.6.1(both the most recent updates for these)

hi Retro-grrl,
Thank you for contacting us. May I suggest the followings,
1. Select the "Search" tab in the bottom toolbar
2. Search the files that you want to delete to check if they exists or not. If the files do not exist, go to Step #4
3. If the files appear, then tap "..." next to the PDF, then choose the "Delete" in the popover menu to delete the file. Then do the same search again to make sure the files are deleted
4. Tap the "Home" tab in the bottom toolbar to go back to the Home's Recent
5. Tap "..." next to the PDF that you do not want it in the Recent file list, then choose the "Remove from Recent" in the popover menu instead of the "Delete", and continue to tap "Remove" button in the "Remove from recent" dialog
The file should not be in the Home Recent file list.
Hope this helps

Thanks Derek Lau-As the files names were jumbled strings of letters and numbers(& wouldn't let me rename them either) I had to write the strings down seperately on paper as acrobat app won't let me copy paste from these either, then type those out in the search; to then get the result that they couldn't be found-I really don't understand HOW it is they couldn't be found as I could clearly see them there, or why the delete option did not just work to remove them however this rather long winded process did the trick to get rid of them it would appear so I appreciate your suggestions thanks very much!!!
