I have a PDF file with an embedded flash element, an audio clip, that will not play in Adobe Reader DC on Windows 10. Reader DC keeps saying that Flash needs to be installed, but the the Adobe Flash install won't run because it detects that Windows 10 already has Flash, distributed by Microsoft Update. I am able to play the embedded Flash audio element on Windows 7 with Adobe Reader XI and Adobe Flash installed. However, our environment is almost exclusively Windows 10 now.
Please advise.
On Windows 10 and Reader DC, I've already trusted the document and set security (enhanced) to disable protected mode. There was no change. Right clicking on the Flash element and choosing "enable content" only brings up the "install Flash" message.
You need to install the NPAPI version of Flash, not just the one your browser thinks is installed.

That worked. Thank you Adobe, for the clear instructions and prompts within your product.

We have an EOL date for Flash now, so we are waiting with bated breath for news of the future of this...
