Hello everyone,

I created a Button to save the PDF form. It's as "save as" button. Is it possible to chose a folder which must be used and use the name as the document name the person wrote in a text field before?

Example:

Default folder name: school.

The text field is filled with the name "Person1" and he clicks on the save-button. The dokument will be saved as "person1.pdf" in the folder "school".

I use Acrobat DC Pro 2018.

Do you have an idea? Would be so great if someone could help!

Thanks, Nattie

If you want to save the file under a specific name and in a specific folder then you need to do it yourself, using the saveAs method.

However, that requires running it from a trusted context, which usually means a script that's installed on the local machine of each user who is going to use this file. See this tutorial for further details: https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-save-pdf-acrobat-javascript

Thanks try67, but it doesnt really help me. They only describe how to save it with a JS but not with a inserted name of a text field. It's the first time I use JS so at the moment I'm really lost..

The first question is: Can you install a script on the local machine of each user?
