When I try to combine multiple PNG files in Acrobat to 1 PDF I get "unknown error" after the it processes the first page.

This only seems to be an issue for PNGs, as it will let me combine JPEGS.

Mac OS Mojave 10.14

Acrobat Pro DC...up to date.

This was my go-to method for combining catalogs and now it's suddenly stopped and it's the worst. Help!

Adobe Acrobat DC and Reader DC official update (2019.021.20056) containing the fix for this issue is now available. This update will be automatically pushed to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader. If you want, you may also manually trigger the update early by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates.

More information about this release is here:https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/continuous/dccontinuousoct2019qfe3...

Please try it out and let us know your feedback!

Thanks for your patience and support!

Can you describe the steps that you were following before this happened to combine those files?

Is there also a screenshot you can share?

And, did you notice if this started happening after updates were applied in your system?
