Bulk convert MS files into PDF in folder structure on Mac OS

Hi All, I hope you are well?

I have a question which has been baffling me for a while.  I am now using Adobe Acrobat X Pro on a Mac, my company switched to just switch us all to Macs.

I always used to use Adobe Pro on a PC and could batch convert all MS files in a nested folder structure that contained different MS files throughout the folder structure at various levels and Adobe would Batch convert the lot and place the converted and OCR'd PDF's into the same folder as the original.  This is a task that while not required weekly happens at least one a month and sometimes on a large scale.

Now that I am using Adobe X Pro on a Mac, I see a Batch Convert option, however it only allows me to select PDF's and does not allow me to select the MS documents.

Does anyone know what is going on here, are my settings incorrect or do I need Adobe 11 Pro. We have 19 other people who need to do this as well and will buy extra copies if we can get this to work?

Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Richsarada

    Hi Richsarada,

Word isn't one of the supported formats for batch creating PDF files in Acrobat X for Mac OS, but it is in Acrobat XI for Windows. If you want to try out Acrobat XI before buying it, please feel free to download a 30-day trial from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

Hi Sara, I'm afraid that Windows isn't an option here.  On the other hand, does that mean XI Pro for a Mac will convert Excel and .PPT?

Is it possible to find out which file types X and XI will batch convert on OSX??

We would have no problem just using X is it works.

    Many thanks,

My mistake! I meant to say that you can do it Acrobat XI for Mac OS! It will do Excel, PowerPoint, and Word batch create!

    So sorry for the confusion.

    Thanks Sara,

I downloaded the test version last night and can confirm that it does indeed convert Excel, Word and Powerpoint, which is brilliant.

I see that it doesn't do Outlook files (.PST), is there a way to buy bolt/add on's that would allow for the expansion of file types that XI will convert?

Would you know if there are any other tricks/add ons that Adobe can do with regards to converting files into PDF's?

    Many may thanks indeed,

    Richsarada
