Changing a pdf file size?

New Here ,
Apr 08, 2013 Apr 08, 2013

Hi - I am fairly new to Adobe, so please forgive my ignorance! I have created some pdf files from a batch of scanned documents, which I now want to email. I forgot to scan them as B&W and now the pdfs are colour, they are too big to email (28MB). Is there a way I can change them to B&W or reduce the filesize to an acceptable email size limit? Really appreciate any help as I have to get these out tonight... Thanks

Hi Working-mum

if You are using Acrobat X then,

choose "File > Save As > Optimized PDF...", as opposed to "File > Save As > Reduced Size PDF...".

If you're using Acrobat XI then see the below link and Scroll to Reduce size article.
