Last month I was able to convert PDF documents to Word without recognizing text. So I wound up with an image of the PDF document as the background in Word. Then I could just type on top of it.
Today it seems that option doesn't exist any more. The dropdown shows me 10 language options, but "don't recognize" isn't one of them anymore.
Does anyone know if there's some other way to do this after this latest "improvement" to this service?
Hi GordonPrince,
You can't disable OCR via the web interface, but you can if you convert your files via Reader. Please see How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community.

Well Reader is clearly where I saw this option last month. Thanks.
But this still doesn't get me a Word document with filled out information from the form. The only way I can get this to work is to print what I'm looking at on the screen to a printer that creates images. Then convert the result to a .PNG file. Then insert the object into my Word document. Then type in the foreground keeping the .PNG image in the background.
Seems like if I can fill out the form and save it, there should be some other way to save it with the filled out information instead of reducing the quality by sending it all through a "print to file" operation. Any ideas most welcome.
Thanks.

To save form data in a PDF form filled in via Reader, the form must be Reader Enabled. Please see http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/X/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7e0d.w.html
