Converting pdf to xml or even word.

I would like to convert a pdf to xml and I am unable to do so.  When I try to convert the pdf to word (to convert to xml) it will not let me as the error message states that there is a security issue (password protected).  What can I do to get through this problem?

As the error message said "there is a security issue (password protected)" that means, the document that you are trying to convert has been secured with the password. And, if you want to convert it to xml you need to unlock the document with the password.
