    RJ:

Is this a PDF file you created or supplied by someone else?

Typically, editing PDFs are frowned upon due to fact that someone created them "not" to be edited, hence the name "Portable Document Format". The document is supposed to be locked in so that others see the same thing that the creator indended.

That's not to say they can't be edited if they don't have any security checks on them that prevent you from editing them. Most PDFs can be opened and edited with Adobe Illustrator if you have the fonts you need for that document. Acrobat Pro will let you also do many edits to a PDF. Then there is the plug-in Pitstop Professional which is a great PDF editor.

Can you further elaborate what you're trying to do? Also list what computer platform (Mac or Windoze) and what kind of applications you usually use.

    Hi,

    How to edit PDF files:

    1. Open a file in Acrobat XI.
    2. Select Tools > Content Editing.
    3. Click the Edit Text & Images tool.
    4. Click the on-page element you wish to edit, which automatically activates the tools you'll need.
    5. Choose the tool that best fits your task.
