Is Adobe sign secure?

Community Beginner ,

I am new to Adobe e-sign. I just recently did an e-sign with sensitive info in the document to be signed. After the signer signed it, adobe sent an attached copy of the signed copy to my hotmail which I was really surprised because that means sensitive information was exposed to the internet without encryption. I didn't know that it was going to send me back an attached copy not like docu-sign which only send a link.

Can someone tell me if there is an option that I can set for it to not send an attached file but instead send a link to the document, which I hope is secured by Adobe. Thank you.

Steve

Attaching a PDF to email responses is optional and can be configured in the admin UI.  Take a look at the attached screenshot.Screen Shot 2020-03-01 at 10.18.56 AM.png

Thank you ghutchin for your answer. Somehow I am not finding the page you are referring to. But at least I know there is an option and if I have to do it again, I am sure going to make sure to set the right option. Thank you very much.

Hi Ghutchin,

we have the same issue and already found the option in the settings that the signed document is not sent via e-mail attachment. But when we tried it out we found out, that an e-mail is sent as confirmation that the document is signed. And this e-mail contains a link to the signed document. The link is not encrypted in any way, so anyone who gets access to this e-mail is able to see the document which contains sensitive information. So this is not secure regarding data protection. Do you have an idea how to handle this and avoid that the link is freely accessable?

Thanks in advance,

There also is the obvious flaw of the system that requires users to sign in with their network credentials....all from a third party email request.

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please share more information about the third-party email request you are referring to here?

Please let us know how you are accessing the account. If there is any issue, we will get it checked.
