Unable to create a link on Adobe Aero

Community Beginner ,
Feb 01, 2023 Feb 01, 2023

Hi there, I'm using Adobe Aero 0.18.4 on a MacBook running Ventura 13.2

I've been unable to produce any links, either on projects I create myself or have downloaded from the adobe platform.

I've closed and restarted the program, and reuploaded the files as .real files but haven't been able to get anything to work.

I always get the same alert:

Unable to Create Link. Something went wrong and we couldn't create your link.

Are you able to advise on what is going wrong and if there is anything I can do about it?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Melanie28086020i4rd is this for all projects, or in particular? If it's that latter can you PM the .real file? Thanks.

Hi there, thanks for getting back.

It's for all projects both those created and one I also downloaded as a test from the Adobe tutorials.

Thanks very much.

Hi @markhellar

I just wanted to see if there was any update on this, and if there is anything I can do when this is happening on all projects?

Thank you,

Melanie

Hi All, I working on tracking this down. Are you accounts tied to an education/school account by any chance? Thanks

@markhellar I also just tried exporting the .real file from my corporate account and opening it in the app on my iPhone (12 pro running iOS 16.2) with my personal account and still no link

@markhellar I've also opened a support ticket through my corporate account. After being on the phone with customer support for almost an hour and downgrading AR to two previous versions I am still getting the same error on all projects.

Same issue. Very annoying. The link is not getting created. Only the tutorials work, once the file is updated, the updates do not reflect and the same old version is shown. Creating a new file or project does not work as well.
Is there a paid version that works? I dont think the free version works at all.

Hi there, I am having the same issue. I can't and have never been able to create a link for any project, on desktop, ipad or mobile. It comes up with the same error."Unable to create link" I'm using a corporate account and work on macs.

I also can't create links. Doesn't matter what project file. I tried iOS and windows. It's for a corporate account. I need this to work ASAP please.

I also tried recreating a project with all assets in the cloud because the first one i made had files stored locally so i thought that was the problem, but apparently not.

Same for me. @markhellar is there anyone working on a bugfix?
It seems a lot of people encounter this problem.

SOLUTION: After working directly with Adobe support on this I found a solution (may not be the isse for everyone but worth trying). We discovered that my account settings do not allow for public link creation/sharing. You can test this by opening another Adobe product that does support link sharing and trying to create a link there. (I tested using Adobe Express). The other products have more robust error notifications given that they are not in beta. Because my Adobe account is a corporate license I had to ping my account manager and am waiting for them to change the settings but tested it on my personal account and I was able to create the link. Hope this helps!
