QR Code Generator Reduced Functionality

Community Beginner ,
Dec 15, 2023 Dec 15, 2023

Hello,

I used QR codes from Adobe Express to generate mailto links for physical nameplates. If someone was to visit an office and the person was out, it was a quick and easy way to send an email without much effort. Now the Adobe Express QR code generator requires an https link which makes mailto links invalid and now I can no longer use it. Can this be included or should I move to a different QR code generator? Hopefully I just need to update my process to accomplish the same thing.

Could you please let us know what happens when you use the your link in QR code in Adobe Express?

Using a mailto link results in a validation error telling you that the URL is invalid

This was posted in December 2023,  and still has not been resolved from what I can tell - have you got a timeframe for when this will be addressed?

I haven't even been acknowledged directly, let alone getting an ETA. I've mostly moved to Chromes built-in QR Code generator but I usually edit out the chrome dinosaur.

LATEST

I was tasked with creating a QR Code that would open a new email addressed to multiple recipients. I initially tried InDesign but it did not like the multiple addresses. I tried Adobe Express and discovered there are two different Generate QR Code windows. I copied the same mailto link into both and one worked and the other did not.

First Window - QR Code did not work:

Click on "Generage QR Code" from Home

First - didnt work.png

Second Window - QR Code Worked!

Open or create a document. In the search field, type in "code" and click on "Generate QR Code"Second - did work.png

Example mailto code: Replace email address and test for yourself.

mailto:Email1@address.com,Email2@address.com,Email3@address.com,Email4@address.com?subject=Add Subject Line&body=

Please fix so that either method work.
