When editing the timeline for a video, especially editing a few minutes into a timeline, it will jump back to the start of the timeline preventing edits to objects or audio unless you are fast enough to catch it before it jumps. The issue seems to be worse the larger the scale of the timeline, or the more you have to scroll to the end.
