Corel to PNG to SVG to Cricut

I have a drawing I did in Corel Essentials that I exported to a png. I uploaded the png to Adobe Express and exported it as an svg for use in Cricut Design Space.  In one area there are spaces between line segments that are not in the original  car or png versions. I can't figure out why it's happening  or how to fix it.

Did you use CorelDRAW Essentials (vector) or CorelPainter Essentials (raster)? When you converted to PNG it became raster if it wasn't already. SVG is vector, but you can't change raster into SVG.

Best practice is to never make it raster if you final output is to SVG. Keep it vector (with anchor points).

  • Use CorelDRAW, not Painter
  • Do not export to a raster format such as PNG
  • Export from CorelDRAW to SVG or PDF or Adobe Illustrator
Try all three and see which works best.

I've branched your post to its own thread.
