Dynamic Text Misaligning When I Download to PDF in Adobe Express

New Here ,
May 21, 2025 May 21, 2025

Hello! I'm having an issue getting a file print-ready in Adobe Express. My cover page has a title that I designed using the "dynamic text" feature, and it is center aligned as per the "position" feature (so I know I'm not just imagining that the text is centered). When I download my file to PDF, however, the title jumps over slightly to the left, so it is no longer centered. This is ruining my cover page. I can download to PNG but the whole point for me is getting my document print-ready with the bleeds & crop marks set in Adobe Express. Can anyone help?

Hi @Hannah26596267xzlq

Thank you for reaching out! The issue with dynamic text shifting in PDF exports can happen due to how the text alignment is processed during export.

To help resolve this, please try:

  • Ensuring all text boxes and elements are properly grouped and aligned.

  • If available, export your file using a different browser or the Adobe Express desktop app.

  • Clear your browser cache before exporting again.

If the issue persists, please get back to us. We’re here to help you get your cover page perfectly print-ready!

Thanks! I was on a time crunch so I just re-designed the cover to look like dynamic text myself. How do I download the desktop app? When I try to do it from Adobe home, it just opens my web app. Thanks!

Thanks for following up — happy to clarify!

Currently, Adobe Express doesn’t have a standalone desktop app like Creative Cloud or Photoshop. What I meant was using the web version of Adobe Express on a desktop browser (e.g., Chrome or Edge), which offers more functionality than the mobile app, especially for features like dynamic text and exporting to PDF.

To get the best experience:

  • Visit https://adobe.ly/4kFlQW7 on your computer

  • Sign in with your Adobe ID

  • Use the web app directly from there — no additional download needed

If you want a more “app-like” experience, you can install the web app as a PWA:

  1. Open https://adobe.ly/3Sre06M in Chrome

  2. Click the install icon (a little computer icon in the address bar)

  3. It will add Adobe Express as a desktop shortcut with its window

Let me know if you need help with that setup!

Best regards,

^MM

Thanks for clarifying! I use the web version of Adobe Express exclusively and am still having issues with PDF export, and I am following all the other tips you suggested like properly aligning and grouping design elements. It seems like a bug that needs fixing. Does Adobe have plans to remedy the issue? It's frustrating to be on a print deadline and run into bugs with the export process that should be a no-brainer. Thanks!

Hi, I've had this problem too (but with text on an arch). Looks fine on screen in Adobe Express but when you export it as a PDF, it shifts over. Love a fix for this! I'm using the web browser version on Chrome and everything is grouped.

Hi @Elizabeth26781153kg6d, welcome to our community! I tried replicating by exporting a project with text in all available layouts (arch, bow, circle, and dynamic text), and it worked fine for me. Can you please share a screenshot of the project in the editor window and of the exported PDF, so we can see the difference and investigate this?

You should give it a try after clearing the cache/cookies of the browser.

Best,

Amitej

Hi Amitej, thanks for looking into this for me. Here's a screengrab of the editor window followed by the exported PDF (have drawn a line under the text to make it really obvious how it's shifting). Just tried clearing cache etc but same result unfortunately. Any help you can provide gratefully received! I've 'fixed' it by moving the text further left but obviously it looks wrong on the editor screen.

Hey @Elizabeth26781153kg6d, As a workaround, you can try exporting the project as a PNG/JPG and then converting it to PDF using the Adobe Express quick action Convert to PDF.

Once you share your project ID, we'll be able to investigate this.

Thanks!

Image 1 is the Adobe Express result. Image 2 is in Indesign and how it should align. Adobe Express is giving me a llllllot of various inconsistencies that have been very problematic today.

Hi @christian317977568akk

I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties. Would it be possible to create a duplicate instance of the file with the issue, set the permissions so anyone with the link can access/download it, and share the link? You could also private message me the link here through the forums, if you prefer.

Thanks,

Dave
