fade or mask image edge

Can i do this in express? i cant seem to find a way to fade an image edge, or even a graphic element box......

You could try the Erase tool with the Circle Brush, using low hardness and opacity values

The fact that this very simple option is nowhere to be found is baffling. It shouldn't be difficult to have this option as part of the crop tool or the sliding crop tool in express.

Looks like you can only fade an object/image edge as Abhi.G @ ADBE recommended IF said object is a picture - not in the case of it being a shape, like an arrow (as I wanted to attempt within the design below).

Bit ridiculous that this is not available in Adobe... It took me at least 10 min. to come to this conclusion for a simple action.
