I need to add clickable hyperlinks to my newsletter in Adobe Express. This newsletter is downloaded to PDF and the links need to work.  How do I do this?

Good news! You can now add hyperlinks to Adobe Express on the desktop. It is a brand-new feature.

To add a hyperlink…

  1. Select your text
  2. Right click
  3. Select Link Options
  4. Add the link

Note: The link feature works when you save to PDF. Image formats don't support embedded hyperlinks.

Hi @Lisa,

Embedding external hyperlinks to posts (published on Social media) is usually determined by the options offered by the Social Media platforms.

Some platforms don't allow publishing posts that have linked URLs in them.

Sigh, I've been trying to get my hyperlink text to work on an Adobe Express Facebook post that I created with an Express  social media template.  Can I just have the entire 'image/post' be a link?

I think it only works with a text field... so suggested you create a text field that covers the whole thing and enter a full stop or minor character with lots of returns to achieve that. Select the full stop or character and choose the 'no fill' option to make that invisible. Then select the text panel (maybe drag over the invisible full stop) and then add your link.

I'm working on a poster and Adobe Express does not give me the option to save as PDF -- only other image formats.

Hi @Nina33835666468f

You should be able to
1. Double-click the text element you want to contain the hyperlink to select it (same as if you were going to edit it)
2. Hyperlink the portion of the text you want to be hyperlinked
3. Right click on or CMD K / Win K to get to the Link Options and enter the target URL

Hope that helps,
Dave

It doesn't look like this link feature has been thought trhough... I had the same link question, but related to MP4  video, which is the how Express outputs whenever you introduce animation... surely one of THE best reasons for using Express yes?
I didn't think links on a video would ever work... and spoiler alert - it doesn't! So after recently seing the link button appear, as a test I successfully added a link to a couple of animated text fields. But when I've downloaded the video to test or as a PNG, no surprise the links don't work.
Based on these discussions are downloaded as a PDF... the links DID then work... but it was useless as all the overlapping animated elements appears in the static PDF format, so you couldn't read the messaging or clearly see or access the links... but the links did work.
So either the links should be disabled when it's within a video being created, OR it needs some clear explanation at application stage that the hyperlinks will only work in a static PDF doc when that is selected in the download option.

See examples below.

Hi, after reading all the answers and posts I've found a solution for my presentation to add a hyperlink to a textfield (without that the link-text is visible etc.) because any other "solution" didn't work für my presentation.

1. Dowload the file as PDF

2. Convert it to a Word-Document

3. Add the Hyperlink(s) to the text fields (change text color, underline if you want so)

4. Convert it back to PDF

5. You've got hyperlinks

Complicated? Of course, yes, and not what I expect from Adobe and with Adobe Express with all its Hyper hyper AI etc., but at least it has been working to add a hyperlink to a text field 🙂

Hi, a great update or upgrade to the linking ability, can your developers include a code snippet/code download for the file to be recreated for a web environment?

So... you can make a web page, but not a website? Unlesss it ionly has one page. I spent HOURS designing six pages that were supposed to be on one site, based on the fact that they say you can use it to develop webpages. Guess I'm missing something. And I have a 48 hour deaadline.

Back to the drawing board.
