Making collages with new adobe express??

Hi @monicaConnect4U, Yes, you could make collages with multiple images in some time with Adobe Express. We are currently working on getting this feature for you to use. Once it is there, we'll let you know.

Is this ever coming back? This was my main use of this product. Now it just seems like it wants to be Canva and can't do what it used to do so well. Very disappointing.

The most notable difference in the new workflow is that you create a collage (grid) inside the editor (within the context of an existing Express project file) rather than create a new project with just the collage.

The collage in the new version is totally unnecessarily complicated. It's impossible to align anything without getting frustrated. It used to take me few seconds to make a collage and now it takes hours. Can you please bring back the simple one from last version? 

I use Adobe express daily and most of your updates are just so difficult to use. Why fix something that it's not broken!!!?

The new app is costing me valuable time when I work as everything takes way too long now.

Hi  I still can't do collage at all. All I want to do is to select let's say 10-20 photos on my phone and they automatically transfer into the grid like it used to. I don't want to do this one by one and editing them separately. Can you please tell me how or do a video on how to do collages? Please...

Thanks for reaching out. Please check this article to create a collage- https://adobe.ly/48R2wAU but this will allow you to create a collage with maximum 9 images.

For more images, I think you can use Photo collage maker which can fulfill your requirements- https://adobe.ly/3O6FiNr

Hi Tarun,

Checking in on this after nearly 2 years of the orignal collage maker being removed. Are there any future plans to improve this current iteration of the collage maker in Adobe Express?

As it is right now it is a shell of its former self.
Some of the critical limtations that remain:

-The 9 image max (old CM was closer to 20),

-Only being able to shuffle the layout in the first screen, not after clicking "edit more"

-Resizing the collage completely ruins the crop (This happened in the previous version too, but you could hit shuffle and it would fix itself pretty fast)

There are so many more issues that make this collage maker an absolute chore to use. I really don't understand because the initial window for creating a new collage behaves almost the exact same way as the old version. Why not just continue to have access to that interface while editing?

I'm probably typing into the void but wanted the Adobe Express team to know there are still folks out here pining for a better collage maker.

Not sure if it helps, but I've created these individual granular requests for some of the limitations mentioned by @Joooeforlong in lieu of posting on the large old thread which is marked Completed (incorrectly, IMO)

• Collage maker: support more than 9 images
• Grids: support shuffle
• Grids: improve cropping behavior

And a few bonus ones:

• Grids: support adding and deleting images/cells
• Create collage: add mobile support

Hi!  Really sorry but it's been more than year now, could we get a progress update on bringing back the old collage tool please?  Making the layout first and having to tap each image, and then go into a sub menu for every one to change it from the default sand dune is really tedious to the extent I've stopped using Express and just use Instagram layouts, but they're not at as good and I miss the old way.  That was such a slick part of the app I would've hoped the new Express would've added more features to it, not taken some away... Thanks!

While many limitations still exist, the "go into a sub menu for every one to change it from the default sand dune" concern should be addressed by the above, at least on desktop.

Hi!  Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.  Ah sorry, I was using mobile and started with an Instagram story so I couldn't find it, I added a grid instead which doesn't seem to direct you to the collage maker UI yet.  I've found it, although you're right that it is limited, as it starts you off with a square canvas, and then you can't shuffle the layout again or change the number of cells once you're able to resize the canvas like I'm sure you used to.  I'll check back when it's out of Beta - thanks!

The links you provided are the OLD, EASY way to create collages. Since then, Adobe "redesign" this features that worked perfect fine, to something that is difficult to use to the point that I have just given up and now I do my collage manually. Adobe—you are MASTERS at fixing things that are not broken. DO BETTER!
