Not able to move files from Assets to Logo when creating Brand from Library

New Here ,
Dec 10, 2024 Dec 10, 2024

Not sure if this is a bug or a program limitation as this is my first time trying to create a Brand from a Library in Express but it's very confusing and nothing I look up is helping.

When creating a Brand from Library, all my files other than colors are organized under Assets. Everything I've searched says I should be able to move them to Logo via the drop down menu on each file but that option is not showing. I've tried uploading the same files to the folder direct from my computer but when I view the CC Library tab in a program like Illustrator, the file is shown as both Not Grouped and as not compatible or and as not compatible with Illustrator (showing as greyed out). Is there a way to fix this and or maintain the organization in my CC Libraries while they are linked to a Brand with it's own organization?

At this point the only thing I can think of is having to create a Brand from scratch and having to maintain the two in parallel in the future, which is a huge time suck that I was hoping this feature would be able to prevent.

Hi @EmeraldHASC

It seems you're encountering challenges when creating a Brand from a Library in Adobe Express. Could you confirm if you're using the latest version of the app? Are the files you're trying to organize supported by both Adobe Express and Illustrator? Additionally, could you provide more details about the specific drop-down menu options you're missing?

This will help us understand whether it's a compatibility issue or something else. We’re here to assist and find a solution!

Regards,

Sonali

I am using Express via browser so it is up to date. Illustrator is also up to date. Yes the files are supported by both I am using Illustrator files. And I wouldn't know if there is a drop down menu I am missing, all the Adobe support topics I read about this suggest there should be some option to move the files but they don't provide any images of said menu.

Was this ever resolved for you? I'm having great difficulty building a library/brand that will work in both adobe express AND indesign/illustrator. Seems there are quite a few limitations with organization in adobe express. My findings seem that the it works better if you build the brand in express, however, I am running into the same issue, if I upload vector files into express, it shows that they are unsupported files in indesign. If I load them into my library in indesign, in the express platform they default into the "asset" folder of the brand with no option to move them.

I've found no ideal solution. I just ended up having to create 1 Express brand and 1 CC library for everything which with the dozen or so sub-brands I maintain is a huge pain. I only upload PNGs to the Express Brand for logos and assets and I'll upload AI/Vector files to the CC Libraries. Currently 2 different teams use just 1 of these storages at a time so it works for them. Really the only person who will be inconvinenced is the person who manages the files and matierials (me lol)

ouf, that is not great. I too, will be the one managing these brands/libraries for a really large group of communciators. Explaining when/where to use a brand vs a library seems problematic enough, let alone managing them all. Adobe, please help!!!

Hi @EmeraldHASC and @brooke_8380

Not sure if it helps, but you should be able to move brands and libraries between the two sections in Express. If you click the fly-out menu for the thumbnail in the left-hand panel, there is an option at the bottom to move between the two areas. I'll include a screenshot for reference

Best,
Dave

When I create a brand in adobe express, it automatically shows up in my CC libraries. How do I I remove the brand from my CC libaries without deleting it from Adobe Express? Seems I will need to create libraries for our indesign users, but a brand for our adobe express users. It's confusing that the brands show up in CC libraries.

Hi @brooke_8380

Libraries and Brands are interchangeable in Express like shown in my screenshot above. If you want to differentiate them outside of Express I would include Brand in the name. You can rename in the same thumbnail menu shown in the screenshot in my former post. You wouldn't want to delete them, as this would remove them from Express.

Hope that helps,
Dave

I feel as though this issue has not been fully addressed. In my experience I am struggling with creating groups within the logos section of Brands. For example, I can upload a number of logos to my Adobe Express brand. However, as soon as I try to create sub-groups within the logos, the uploaded files are automatically removed from the logo category and then designated as "assets". Why? Also, what is the difference between what Adobe Express considers "logos" vs. "assets"?

Hi

@SiMax11

,

Welcome to the community! We're sorry to hear about this. Can you describe the exact steps you’re taking when trying to create sub-groups within the Logos section? Are the logos you’re uploading in a specific format (e.g., PNG, SVG)? When the logos are moved to "Assets," are they still accessible and functional for your design needs, or are they becoming difficult to manage?

Regards,

Tarun

Here is a step by step example:

1. Navigate to Adobe Express (on the browser)

2. Click on "brands" in the left menu bar

3. Click on "create brand"

4. Click on "add" and select "logos"

5. Upload individual SVG files (or Illustrator files), either file type doesnt make a difference

6. Open any Adobe app (desktop platform) and open the CC library window

7. Within the app CC LIbrary window, click on either add folder or right click and add folder

8. Within the app CC LIbrary window, drag and drop the logo files into this newly created folder

At this point, when you return to the Adobe Express brand tab on the browser, all the logo files are no longer in the logo category, but there is a new sub group within the logo category with the title of the new folder I created and moved the files to, however this group within the logos category says "There's nothing in this group". There is also is a group called "Not grouped" that has nothing in it.

The main point here is that there does not seem to be any way to organize multiple logos (or groups) of logos within the Brands Logo feature.

Hi @SiMax11,

Here are some steps you can try :

1-Check File Compatibility: Ensure that the logo files you're uploading are in a compatible format (SVG, PNG, or JPEG) and are correctly tagged as logos when you upload them. You can try re-uploading the files directly to the "Logos" category to ensure they stay organized.

2-Use the Library: If you want to keep everything organized and easily accessible across multiple Adobe apps, you can also add these logos to your Creative Cloud Library, and then access them directly from Express or other Adobe apps. This can prevent issues with file organization.

3-Try Re-uploading from a New Session: Sometimes, session or cache-related issues may cause files to be misplaced. Try closing your browser, clearing the cache, and logging back in before uploading files again to see if that resolves the issue.

4-Create Folders for Better Organization: If you want to create sub-groups within the "Logos" category, you can organize them in folders. However, it's important to ensure you're properly adding files to these folders during the upload process. If the folder is showing up empty, ensure the files are uploaded correctly in the respective section (i.e., "Logos").

If these steps don't work or the problem persists, I would recommend reaching out to our support team directly for further investigation. You can contact them here: Adobe Support.

I hope this helps, and if you need further assistance, feel free to reach out!
