It appears that this issue is recurring for multiple people. I would recommend contacting Adobe Support. https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html is the link.

Hey @Nathalie,

Welcome to Adobe Express Community!!

This usually comes up when the project is shared with a collaborator, and they have it open in their browser's window, regardless of whether they are working on it or not, or you might have this project open in another window.

Try closing all browser windows and clearing their cache/cookies.

Let us know if it helps!

Best,

Amitej

I have tried on three different browsers (2 on one computer and 1 on a second computer) and cleared my cookies/cache on all 3 browsers. I still get that error message. Is there something else I can try?

Hi,

Clearing cookies didn't help for me either. I have duplicated my project and deleted my blocked project. I can work now in my duplicated project. Works fine for me.

Best regards,

Nathalie

I was able to copy the project, but I had already shared the URL for the original project with all of my coworkers, so I wanted to keep the original. I worked with Adobe tech support. I had shared the project with a coworker, and even though the coworker never logged in to work on the project, that was the basis of the problem. We removed all shared access and the error message went away. I am now able to edit the original project like before.

Doesn't work, nobody is collaborating on my project, and I have no other devices or windows accessing Express.

Hi @matthew_8046. It sounds like you've tried all the common solutions. I'd recommend reaching out to our support directly next. They can be reached here: https://adobe.ly/3Yp1fxf.
